Spravato (esketamine) is the first and only FDA-approved nasal spray treatment for treatment-resistant depression and for major depressive disorder with acute suicidal ideation. It is manufactured by Janssen Pharmaceuticals.
Spravato is delivered in-clinic under direct medical supervision following the FDA’s REMS protocol. The standard induction phase is twice weekly for the first four weeks, then weekly or biweekly for maintenance. Most major insurance plans cover Spravato for adults with treatment-resistant depression.
NeuroGlow’s Spravato treatment program accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, TRICARE, and Optum, with average out-of-pocket cost after insurance around $20 per session for many patients.
Spravato (esketamine nasal spray) is the only FDA-approved esketamine product for treatment-resistant depression and major depressive disorder with acute suicidal ideation. It is administered exclusively in REMS-certified clinical settings and cannot be taken home. Patients self-administer the nasal spray under direct supervision, then remain for a two-hour monitored recovery period required by FDA REMS protocol. Spravato is covered by most commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid for qualifying patients. See our Spravato page for clinical details.
