My infusion treatments at NeuroGlow have been truly life-changing. If you’re feeling stuck or unsure where to turn, I highly recommend giving NeuroGlow a look. The entire team is exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. From the first call I had to my last treatment, my questions were answered and concerns validated. 500 out of 5 stars!

I love this practice! I am receiving the Esketamine aka Spravato treatments through my insurance at Neuroglow for C-PTSD and to help alleviate symptoms of Functional Neurological Disorder (Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures). The nurses that worked with me as a patient were very kind and thorough. I instantly picked up that they genuinely care about the well-being of their patients. The atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing. Neuroglow definitely set the bar and standard very high. They are positively different from other practices in the DFW area that offer similar services. Highly recommend!!

I've suffered with a severe chronic neurological pain disorder for several years, and all other drugs(dozens) and even brain surgery were unsuccessful at best. After hearing about ketamine therapy from my Dr, I did a lot of research, and a LOT of calling and emailing to try to find a place where I could get access in Oklahoma, where I live. I wasn't able to find anything in the state, so I expanded my search to Texas. I found NeuroGlow right away, among others. NeuroGlow stood out for 2 big reasons: First Responder discounts, and the website that gave multiple points of contact, and answered most all of my questions. After 5 treatments with NeuroGlow, which entail me driving over 500 miles, getting a hotel, and 2 uber rides per treatment, I was finally able to find a pain management clinic that does ketamine in Oklahoma. It only took 2 treatments with them, before I was again willing to drive the 500 miles, get a hotel and 2 ubers. That's how stark the difference in care and therapy is. The Oklahoma clinic was rude and indifferent to my requests that I be given the same dosage I was on at NeuroGlow, they made it apparent that my wellness was not their concern, only my money was. I've had the opportunity to go to 2 different NeuroGlow clinics now, and both of them are hands down the most welcoming and caring places I can imagine walking in to, and when dealing with a patient base that is admittedly dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts, the last thing they need is another gate keeper pushing them away from life-saving treatment. I can't speak highly enough of them. From the patient coordinators to the nurse practitioners, you'll be treated with care and respect.

These people do the infusion protocol right. My NP (Jennifer) is experienced and cares (has had infusions herself, which adds peace of mind). Also a great listener. This greatly helped my depression and suicidal ideation. Helped coming off my anti depressants. Actually stopped a lot of my paxil withdraw symptoms for a good period of time (everyone is different so your mileage may vary if you try infusion for these reasons). Keep in mind I started tapering off AFTER my first six infusions, and did medium dose boosters during it. They have the proper psychedelic eye covers, good playlist selections. The little things that produce good outcomes. One of the most important things that many other clinics don't do, included in the main package is the psych counselor that tells what you to expect, and how to frame your mind before your first infusion. After your first infusion you get another session with the counselor that gives you insight into your experience and how to go forward with the rest of the infusions. This is integration. I knew a good bit about this process ahead of time (my sister did infusions years ago and I learned about it from her). It is CRUCIAL for those who are starting infusions or any type of psychedelic treatments really. The only slight negative I can think of is the price, but for what you get, it's DEFINITELY worth it, especially compared to other infusion services, and ABSOLUTELY compared to other non infusion-based ketamine services.

What Is Spravato Treatment?

Spravato is a nasal esketamine spray used with psychotherapy when other depression treatments fail. You self-administer two sprays under supervision in NeuroGlow North Texas clinic, and relief often comes within hours.

After dosing, you rest under observation, then debrief with your therapist. Simple at-home steps, like brief breathing or jotting thoughts, help extend the lift into your daily routine.

The Clinical Evidence Behind Spravato

Spravato (esketamine) earned FDA approval on the strength of large, peer-reviewed clinical trials. A few of the pivotal studies:

  • TRANSFORM-2 (Popova et al., 2019, American Journal of Psychiatry): Esketamine nasal spray combined with a newly initiated oral antidepressant produced significantly greater improvement in treatment-resistant depression than an antidepressant plus placebo.
  • TRANSFORM-1 (Fedgchin et al., 2019, International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology): A Phase 3 trial supporting the efficacy and safety of esketamine nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression.
  • SUSTAIN-1 (Daly et al., 2019, JAMA Psychiatry): Continued esketamine treatment significantly delayed relapse among patients who had initially responded, supporting its role in longer-term maintenance.
  • ASPIRE-I (Fu et al., 2020, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry): Esketamine rapidly reduced depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder experiencing active suicidal ideation.

At NeuroGlow, every Spravato treatment is administered in-office under the supervision of our board-certified medical team, consistent with the FDA REMS safety program.

Frequently Asked Questions About Spravato Therapy

How does Spravato work?

Spravato is esketamine, a single isomer of the ketamine molecule, delivered as a nasal spray. It works through NMDA receptor modulation to stimulate neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to form new neural connections. This mechanism allows Spravato to work much faster than traditional antidepressants, with many patients feeling improvement within the first few sessions.

Who is a candidate for Spravato?

Spravato is FDA-approved for adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD), defined as depression that hasn't responded to at least two different antidepressants. It's also approved for adults with major depressive disorder and acute suicidal ideation. Your candidacy is determined during a free consultation with our medical team.

Is Spravato covered by insurance?

Yes. Spravato is covered by most major insurance plans for adults with treatment-resistant depression. NeuroGlow accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, and Optum, and is in-network with TRICARE, including TriWest-administered plans. We provide a free benefits verification before treatment begins, and your copay depends on your plan; eligible, commercially insured patients may pay as low as $10 per treatment through SPRAVATO withMe.

What does a Spravato session look like?

You'll self-administer the Spravato nasal spray in our clinic under direct medical supervision. After the dose, you'll relax in a quiet, comfortable space for a two-hour monitored recovery period, which is required by the FDA's REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) protocol. We monitor vitals throughout and have providers nearby the entire time.

How is Spravato different from IV ketamine?

Both work through similar NMDA receptor mechanisms, but they differ in three important ways. Spravato is the esketamine isomer, delivered as a nasal spray, and FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression, so it's typically insurance-covered. IV ketamine uses the full racemic molecule, delivered intravenously, and is used off-label. Spravato focuses on depression; IV ketamine covers broader application including PTSD, anxiety, OCD, and chronic pain.

IV Ketamine vs Spravato: A Quick Comparison

Both treatments work by modulating the NMDA-glutamate system, but they differ in several practical ways.
